The Olympic Stadium is our first Limited Edition kit outside the wildlife collection: a low poly rendering of Montréal's most recognizable landmark, nicknamed "The Big O" since the 1976 Summer Olympics.

3 hours of build time. Pre-cut and pre-scored on heavyweight cardstock. No scissors, no printing, no experience needed.

The finished sculpture captures the stadium's signature dome and inclined tower in sharp geometric facets - a compact tribute to one of the most ambitious, and most debated, buildings in Canada.

Part of the Poly Paper Craft Limited Edition collection. Designed in Montréal since 2016.

Every kit includes:

  • Pre-cut and pre-scored papercraft sheets on heavyweight cardstock
  • A practice kit: a tiny mushroom, to learn the fold technique before you start (a little bit tricky on purpose)
  • Step-by-step instructions in 6 languages (FR/EN/ES/PT/IT/DE)
  • Glue not included

No scissors needed. No printing. Everything is ready to fold.

The building Montréal loves to argue about.

Built as the main venue for the 1976 Summer Olympics, Montréal's Olympic Stadium was designed by French architect Roger Taillibert as a feat of organic modern architecture - its curves inspired by plant and animal forms rather than the rigid geometry typical of stadiums at the time.

Nicknamed "The Big O" - part reference to its name, part to the doughnut-shaped ring of its roof - the stadium is just as often called "The Big Owe," a nod to a construction bill that ballooned from an estimated $134 million to over $1 billion, not fully paid off until 2006, three decades after the Games.

Attached to its base is the Montréal Tower, inclined at 45 degrees and rising 165 metres - still the tallest inclined tower on Earth. It wasn't finished until 1987, eleven years after the stadium first opened its doors, unfinished, for the Olympics.

Love it or resent it, the Big O is unmistakably Montréal. This kit renders its dome and tilted tower in the same low poly language as the rest of our collection - proof that even concrete and controversy can look good in paper.
