This low poly Squirrel is an Eastern Grey Squirrel caught mid-sprint - body low, tail streaming behind, the frozen energy of an animal that is never quite still.

2.5 to 3.5 hours of build time. Pre-cut and pre-scored on heavyweight cardstock. No scissors, no printing, no experience needed.

The finished sculpture has a sense of movement that most static pieces lack. The dynamic posture makes it one of the most playful kits in the collection.
Placed it on a table or on a wall.

Part of the Poly Paper Craft Canadian wildlife collection. Designed in Montreal since 2016.

Every kit includes:

  • Pre-cut and pre-scored papercraft sheets on heavyweight cardstock
  • A practice kit: a tiny mushroom, to learn the fold technique before you start (a little bit tricky on purpose)
  • Step-by-step instructions in 6 languages (FR/EN/ES/PT/IT/DE)
  • Glue not included

No scissors needed. No printing. Everything is ready to fold.

The most energetic neighbour in the Canadian backyard.

The Eastern Grey Squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) is one of the most recognizable urban wildlife species in Canada - found in parks, backyards, and tree-lined streets from Ontario to British Columbia's coast. Its two-tone colouring - grey body, golden-amber stripe - makes it instantly identifiable.

Grey squirrels are scatter hoarders: in autumn, they bury thousands of individual food caches - seeds, nuts, and acorns - across their territory. They recover most of them through winter by memory and by smell. The ones they forget germinate. A significant portion of Canada's forest regeneration is the unintentional work of squirrels that simply forgot where they hid their lunch.

Their speed is remarkable: a grey squirrel can reach 25 km/h and change direction instantly, making them nearly impossible for most ground predators to catch. That mid-sprint posture - low body, tail streaming, front paws reaching forward - is exactly what this kit captures.
